OUR VISION

Whispering Song’s Avalon Retreat Centre (ARC) is committed to providing a fun, safe and unique summer retreat experience for children and youth! Our foundation of traditional Tribal Teachings promotes life skills that build confidence, leadership, awareness and honour and respect of self and others.

ARC is a nurturing environment that supports children of all ages and traditions in learning and growing physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Our social and interactive atmosphere offers intimate child-to-leader ratios ensuring that young people enjoy a wide variety of activities. Our programming gives each camper an opportunity to strengthen their personal connection to the Earth Mother while building lasting friendships and a sense of community.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Our inter-faith program is based on traditional Tribal Teachings and a Foundation of Truth promoting sustainability on all levels. We honour the Teaching of the Circle as we acknowledge that we are not separate from the natural world. The trees, the stones, the water, the fire, the air and the animals are our brothers and sisters. We demonstrate honour and respect in all areas of the Earth Walk for our Elders, our community and the natural world.

We believe that all children are born with innate gifts and abilities. All of our programs acknowledge each individual’s unique purpose and provide the space for children to come into these gifts. In our tradition, we say we support them in “becoming who it is they already are” through self-acceptance, self-awareness and trust.

We invite parents to participate in concurrent adult retreats. Families are encouraged to co-create a new practical and balanced spiritual wisdom that can be taken home and into any community circle.
