ARC Fundraiser, Standing Ovation at Enter My Goddess
Originally presented at Sir Wilfred Laurier High School, Toronto
June 4th 2008
Back this year by popular demand and yet again received by standing ovation, Enter My Goddess was performed on Wednesday June 4th by the young women of Notre Dame High School, who kindly donated their opening night proceeds in support of the completion of Mary's House at the Avalon Retreat Center.
Enter My Goddess is an award winning play that was written by an extraordinary group of women from Notre Dame who attended an in-school workshop facilitated by Gaisheda Kheawok. It was last produced in 2005 at Ontario's prestigious Summerworks Theatre Festival.
This play is a powerful story of change and empowerment, told through the journeys of seven young women as they search for their identity as women. It was a magical evening, which provoked laughter, tears and much reflection among the audiences who participated in this remarkable perfomance.
On behalf of Mary's House, we thank the cast, crew,
writers and all those who made this evening possible.
