It is night in our home. Although we have been calling to The Winter Mother, we find ourselves yearning to step into the Sun and out of the rich darkness of the Dreamtime.

We remember that Imbolc is here; that it marks the half way point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. We recall that even a minute after Solstice the wintery Dream of the Feminine cycle gives way to the strength and structure of the Divine Masculine: Spring is imminent!

As we celebrate Imbolc, we honour Brigid, the Celtic goddess of Fire, and the return of Grandfather Sun. In our tradition, we tell Brigid's story, Priestess and Steward, whose desire for her community to work in unison with the Earth and one another came into being through her magical cloak. Brigid’s cloak is the mantle of the Mother - the chaos and the dream, its embrace the blue-black velvet wisdom of the dark time embroidered within its lining. 

Brigit’s cloak grows and grows because the Mother’s love is as vast and as abundant as the universe itself. Each and every one of us is being asked at this time to receive Her abundance, to draw in the Sun King’s love and to allow that which stands in the way of becoming who we already are to be released. It is a time of great opportunity to take responsibility for ourselves, to let go of giving away our empowerment to others and to reclaim our gifts and abilities.
