The Celtic people synchronized their understanding of the natural world with the lunar and solar calendars. We celebrate the complete Celtic Calendar in relationship to the Earth Cycles, illustrating a pilgrimage that illuminates and empowers our perceptions of the Earth Walk.

Whispering Song celebrates each festival with events that offer participants Teachings on the festival, and often involve special activites such as Shamanic Ceremony, moving meditation, good food, great people and an opportunity to align your rhythm with the Cycle of the Great Mother! Please note that the dates (as listed below) may differ slightly from the date on which the festival celebration is held - check the website or contact the office for further details on each event.

Autumn Equinox

Fall Equinox is the time of equal dark and light - a place on the Wheel to acknowledge the corn we have harvested this growing cycle.

Lammas (August 1)

Lammas represents the first harvest, the celebration of the Sun God’s Bounty, the honouring of the Green Man and the harvest of the first corn. Here Merlin meets Morgainna and we prepare for the advent of the feminine cycle and the journey inward. Participants of this Wisdom wheel teaching will enjoy Earth Teachings, Celtic Wisdom and Archetypal healing.

A Celtic and Medicine Wheel Festival. Representing fire and water, Imbolc marks the advent of Spring, a time when the waters below begin to flow and the sun begins to make its way back to Earth. It is a time for awakening and gathering new seeds to plant in the growing season. We will celebrate Imbolc and honour Brigid the Celtic goddess of Fire, and the return of Grandfather Sun.

Winter Solstice (December 21)

At Winter Solstice, the sun is the furthest away from the Earth and we experience the shortest day and the longest night. Contrary to the “traditional spirit of the festive season”, it is a time for being with yourself- going inward, resting, reflection and release. We will celebrate the Solstice and learn to honour this special time during this special season.

Samhain – Halloween (October 31)

This is the time when the veil between the unseen worlds and the physical is the thinnest. It is the time of the return to the Goddess and Earth Mother. We will celebrate the Spiritual New Year on the Celtic and Wisdom Wheels, through costume, ritual and song.
